During the second day of the EU-Startups Summit 2022, the presentation “Digital Transformation in Media, Insights form Euronews & the Future of European Media” was held.
At the EU Startup Summit, Michael Peters from one of the most famous news channels, Euronews, shared with conference participants his insights on what European companies and startups are like and how they stand out on the market.
The main question raised during the presentation was: Is Europe late? It concerned the issue of whether Europe is missing a lot in terms of business development to catch up with the US or Asia?
In response to this question, Peters pointed out that, above all, European companies are different from those in foreign markets because they put people at the center. This means that they put emphasis on other aspects of their work. Michael listed some basic features that describe European companies:
Solution driven – they are focused on delivering a good solution and focus less on financial issues.
Inclusive
Eco-conscious- focused on environmental issues-. This factor is one of the greatest that distinguishes them, for example, from American companies.
Disruptive- large cooperation between private and public entities
Resilient
Participation in the conference and fair in Barcelona at the EU Startup Summit took place as part of the Economic Accelerator program and the Małopolska Innovation Rocket project. The Economic Accelerator is organized by the Institute for Eastern Studies. Three companies from Malopolska participating in the project – Versatilex, Medical Simulation Technologies and Score Digital had an opportunity to go to Spain.
