During the second day of the 7th European Congress of Local Governments in Mikołajki, a discussion panel was held “Digital commune – accelerator of new business and a chance for development”.
The fifth generation network solutions will affect many areas of life: industry, health, agriculture and optimization of energy consumption. For new technologies to enter the region for good, however, a modern telecommunications infrastructure must be created earlier, which will meet the increased demand for data transfer and maintain a greater network load. The attitude of the commune may either accelerate or delay this process, ensuring the preservation and enhancement of economic competitiveness or reducing its chances of active participation in the contemporary economic and social circulation.
